Bio
Abdallah Hendawy, Ph.D., specializes in the study of mass mobilization and social movements with a particular focus on radicalization and violent insurgency in the Middle East. He has been actively engaged in several grassroots organizations and managed transnational action movements.
Hendawy previously worked for the U.S. State Department and continues to provide analyses of regional developments for several think tanks, international organizations, and other global platforms. Hendawy holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from George Mason University.
He is also the author of Bleeding Hearts: From Passionate Activism to Violent Insurgency in Egypt
