Bio
Dr. Melissa Meulman, Psy.D. is a Licensed Psychologist and the Associate Director for Training at the AU Counseling Center. She provides individual and group therapy, crisis intervention and outreach/consultation services to the AU community, and manages the training programs at the Center. Prior to joining the counseling staff at AU, Dr. Meulman completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She completed her APA-accredited doctoral internship at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and previously worked as a staff psychologist in a college counseling center in Lincoln, NE. Her areas of clinical interest include grief and loss, family of origin concerns, trauma and recovery, shame, relationship issues and identity development. She believes the therapeutic relationship is central to change and utilizes an integrative approach of psychodynamic, interpersonal and cognitive-behavioral therapies.
