Linking Remedies: The Use of Multiple Grievance Mechanisms for Business-Related Human Rights Violations
Varsha Iyengar is a lawyer, a policy expert and a certificated mediator. As a lawyer specializing in dispute resolution in India, Varsha practiced before the High Court of Karnataka and the Supreme Court of India. She was a Founding Partner at Arka Law, Bangalore. Her practice areas included commercial and real estate disputes. She also engaged in high-impact litigation on behalf of children and persons with disabilities for their right to health and quality education. As a researcher and policy expert, Varsha was involved in drafting the Karnataka State Dispute Resolution Policy. She has also contributed to empirical studies and policy briefs on Business and Human Rights issues including the impact of legal regulation on the global supply chain during Covid-19; the impact of tobacco control regulation on public health in India etc.
Varsha holds a JSM (Master in the Science of Law) from Stanford Law School, California, where she received a SPILS Scholarship.
Currently, as an S.J.D. Candidate, Varsha is exploring remedial mechanisms in International Business and Human Rights disputes.
