Summer Programs

Registration

Please note that the registration process differs for US Law Students (WCL JD and LLM students and students visiting from ABA-approved or state accredited law schools) and US and international attorneys and advanced law students from around the world.

u.s. law students:

  • WCL JD or LLM Students may take summer courses for academic credit and do not require a special application. 
  • Visiting JD and LLM Students interested in academic credit must complete the Visiting Student Application through the Office of the Registrar website.

Summer in DC institute courses can be taken in conjunction with summer-long courses or in addition to an internship or externship. Registration for academic credit opens April 12, 2024. Please see the Academic Calendar for more information. Per ABA Standards, students taking courses for academic credit may register for up to 2 credits per week in condensed specialized courses regardless of their participation in full summer-length courses.

u.s. and international attorneys & advanced law students from around the world 

U.S. and International Attorneys interested in specializing and earning a certificate, diploma or CLE will have the opportunity to join other public and private professionals from geographically and professionally diverse backgrounds in enriching exchanges and make lasting connections for the future. 

Law Students from around the world will have the opportunity to experience Â鶹´«Ã½-style law school learning, including the opportunity to stay on campus and earn a Certificate of Completion.
