Michael Aniton was commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps after his first year of law school and served on active duty as a Judge Advocate upon passing the bar exam. As a Judge Advocate Michael served as a prosecutor at the Marine Corps Air Station in Iwakuni, Japan, and as an appellate attorney at the Navy yard in Washington, DC. After serving on active duty Michael accepted a position as a prosecutor for the DC Office of the Attorney General, Public Safety Division. After 4 years at the DC Attorney General’s Office, Michael transferred to the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education, where he served as an attorney advisor. Michael currently serves as the General Counsel for the DC State Athletics Association, which regulates high school interscholastic athletics. Michael continues to serve as a Major in the Marine Corps Reserve.
