Eric Rosenthal

Eric Rosenthal is founder and Executive Director of Disability Rights International (DRI), one of the first and leading advocacy organizations dedicated to the protection and full inclusion of children and adults with disabilities under international human rights law. Rosenthal has investigated human rights violations in 36 countries 鈥 bringing world attention to the concerns of people segregated from society in orphanages, psychiatric facilities, and other institutions. Rosenthal trained activists in 40 countries and helped establish advocacy organizations and groups run by people with disabilities in Hungary, Kosovo, Mexico, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine. In 2008, Rosenthal received the Henry A. Betts Award from the 麻豆传媒 Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) for 鈥減ioneering the field of international human rights advocacy for people with disabilities and bringing unprecedented international awareness to their concerns.鈥澛 In 2015-2016, Eric Rosenthal served as the Robert F. Drinan Chair in Human Rights at the Georgetown University Law Center.聽 He received an honorary doctor of law from Georgetown in 2016.
