Ann Ferren Conference

The Ann Ferren Conference is a one-day annual conference, held the Friday before spring classes begin, features interactive, faculty-led panel sessions on current and important topics related to teaching, research, and learning.

August Faculty Workshops

Every year before the beginning of the semester, the Center for Teaching, Research and Learning, in collaboration with the University Library, hosts the (formerly Teaching, Research & Technology Workshops), demonstrating new and innovative approaches to classroom teaching and research.

Critical Perspectives on Teaching and Learning Series

Part of our job as faculty is to translate our informational materials to students in a way that allows for learning to occur. These sessions will unpack and explore ways that instructors can foster classroom learning environments that allow for the success of a broad range of diverse learners. Learn more about the .

Faculty Fellows Program

The goal of the Faculty Fellows Program is to advance CTRL’s mission of promoting and supporting excellence in teaching and research. The Program leverages faculty expertise to lead in the sharing of knowledge, experience, and creativity with their colleagues. Faculty Fellows work with CTRL to develop and implement programming to enhance faculty’s effectiveness as teachers and researchers.

Faculty Learning Communities

Recent events on- and off-campus have reminded us of the vital importance of developing curricula and pedagogy that recognize and sustain the ways of knowing; which also embraces the lived experiences of students from communities marginalized by systemic inequalities. Green teaching Program

The , which has won a national award and been adopted by six other universities around the country, allows faculty to choose from a list of sustainability measures to collect points towards earning a Green Teaching Certificate for their courses.
