Open Enrollment 2024

It's time to choose your 2025 benefit options November 4 - 18, 2024

As part of its long-term strategy to provide equitable and sustainable benefits for the university, AU made benefit changes for 2025 that are informed by current trends and benchmark data.

Open enrolllment benefits are for eligible full-time staff and faculty.

New for 2025

Due to 2025 changes, we recommend attending the information sessions and reviewing your benefits to ensure the best coverage for your needs.

  • Updated coverage options:

    • Individual
    • NEW Individual + child(ren)
    • NEW Individual + spouse/domestic partner
    • Family

Your portion of the cost of the medical coverage is deducted from your pay on a pre-tax basis.

Important

  • 2025ÌýOpen enrollment elections are in effect from January 1, 2025Ìý– December 31, 2025, unless you have a qualifying life event.
  • If you do not enroll, you will have the coverage you elected for 2024, except for flexible spending accounts (FSAs).
  • Health care and dependent care FSAs do not roll over and must be elected each year. Please note that dependent care FSAs are NOT for your dependent's medical expenses.
  • Your children are eligible to be covered under your medical,Ìýdental, and vision plans until age 26. If your child turns 26 in 2025, they will have coverage until December 31, 2025.

Open enrollment & new hire enrollment

Instructions to make your open enrollment elections in Workday

  • Log into Workday and go to your Inbox.
  • Click the Inbox icon, then open the Open Enrollment Change message.
  • Select Let’s Get Started to go to the enrollment page.

You’ll see one of the following options:

  • Manage: Update your elections.
  • Enroll: You’re not currently enrolled but can enroll for 2025.
  • View: Changes aren’t allowed for this benefit (e.g., core benefits like basic life insurance or benefits requiring vendor enrollment, like commuter benefits).

To add dependents

  • Click Add New Dependent and enter as much information as possible (fields marked with an asterisk are required and must be completed).
  • Click Save.

After you’ve made your elections click Review and Sign at the bottom of the screen. Review the summary, check "I Accept," and then click Submit and Done.
