Message from the Dean

SPA Interim Dean Alison Jacknowitz

Welcome to the SPA Community!

The School of Public Affairs at Â鶹´«Ã½ (SPA) is home to leading scholars in public policy, public administration, political science, criminology, terrorism and homeland security, law and society, data science, and other complex fields. These scientists, teachers, and practitioners, along with our exceptional mix of students and staff, have built a one-of-a-kind, learning community that is ranked #10 in the nation and is top ranked in Washington, D.C.Ìý

We produce 21st-century, challenge-focused research, informing citizens as they work together to improve the world around them. We believe that by magnifying the impact of our research, maintaining our focus on excellent teaching, and preparing students for multiple paths of success, the School of Public Affairs will continue to expand our central role in the public affairs arena. Our community shapes the next generation of knowledgeable, engaged, and globally conscious problem solvers, and it honors the joint pursuits of wisdom, action, service, and compassion.Ìý
