Military-Connected Student Groups

With an active student-veteran and military-connected population on campus, AU has a number of opportunities for veterans, active-military, and dependents to get involved. Take a look at the several options below to see if any might be a good fit. From community service events and campus presentations to social gatherings, you'll always find a way to stay engaged while at AU. In addition to military-focused organizations, you are encouraged to get involved in the diverse array of student organizations on campus. These student organizations are supported by the staff in the University Center/Student Activities.

ÌýWe’re a chapter of Student Veterans of America and the only campus club focused entirely on serving AU’s military-connected students, including undergraduate and graduate students who are actively serving, reservists, veterans, retirees, dependents, patriots, or ROTC cadets.

The Civil-Military Society (Civ-Mil) is a chapter of the Student Veterans of America (SVA) organization. Our mission is to support Â鶹´«Ã½ Washington College of Law (AUWCL) students who either are or have been in the military or civil service, who seek to join the military, or who identify as military-connected—such as spouses, children, friends, contractors, scholars, and civilians. Civ-Mil augments AUWCL’s capable services by advocating for our members, providing peer mentorship, leveraging relevant services, and hosting networking opportunities for a variety of legal interests. If you’re interested in learning more about the organization, or just want to talk about law school in general, please reach out to civmil@wcl.american.edu. We also recommend connecting with us on Instagram @wcl_veterans and LinkedIn@ Washington College of Law Civil Military Society for updates on upcoming events.Ìý
